It has been a while since we have updated this thing. 

My apologies to you all. Recently Jenny, Nick and I have been brainstorming for the upcoming year. We are reformatting how OneVision will be doing things and I'm exciting to see how it all plays out. We started out on the wrong foot but you guys will be excited too with the new, different and down right awesome things coming your way. So mark your calenders and keep those eyes and ears open for upcoming announcements. We will officially kick off the new year on January 24th at 5:30. Hope to see you there.

ATTENTION!!! We need some information!

MEETING CHANGE: The OneVision meeting has been changed to Saturday July 12, 2008 from 6:30-9:00. We will be meeting at the InnerChange worship area or the youth room - it has not been confirmed just yet. I will update once we've figured out which room would be best.

It is getting close to our next meeting. We planned to meet on June 28th; however, we are not sure about the response. Who will be attending and what kind of space we'll need. We need some input! If you plan on attending and have art to present, PLEASE contact Kendall Russell or Jennifer or Nick Nicholson! We just need a rough head count to ensure we have enough snacks and space. Space is a biggie. Unfortunately I'm human and did not think about the space issue until.... well... today.

So I'll post again soon. Keep checking because we will meet after the July 4th Holiday. If you would like to help but not present art, you can! We invite everyone who would like to fellowship and talk about arising issues in our community and world.

First Project!

We met last Saturday about our first project. If you could not attend, please keep checking this site to get updated. If you are interested in participating, please send us an email at onevisionalabama@gmail.com - we will send you a form to fill out so that we know how many are participating!

The first project will focus on widows.

We will have our first showing of our work on Saturday June 28th from 6-9:00.

One Vision Meeting on May 3rd

So it's set! And we are ready to serve! If you are interested in joining the One Vision group or would like to have information, please come to the meeting set on May 3, 2008 - Saturday from 6:00 pm to whenever we are done. We are going to get to know eachother better and discuss our project and share in our vision. God has great things planned for us. We are meeting at the InnerChange in their Youth Room. I have a map of how to get there below. If you have additional questions or need better directions, drop us a line and we'll get back to you!

One Vision

This website and blog is dedicated to the One Vision small group which is a part of the InnerChange. We are a Christ-centered group who wants to make an impact for those who need love and may not have a voice of their own. We are all artists who want to use our talents to raise awareness in our community.

There are so many non-profit groups who raise money to help those in need but some of them get lost in the cracks as they do not receive the required attention. We are praying that those with a passion for the arts would come together to begin projects that would raise awareness for local charities and for charities sending help overseas.

We are still in prayer about this group and are so excited about how it could impact our community and world. Yes... we are optimists.

Our first meeting will be on Saturday May, 3rd from 6-9:00pm. The location has not been decided just yet. We are waiting to see the response to our fliers to see how much room we will need. I am personally hoping to see a jam packed room of artists who have a heart for people in need - who have a vision of love and charity.

We are hoping to draw in photographers, painters, graphic artists, metal artists, writers, poets, musicians, mixed media, wood artists, goodness - if you have a passion for the arts and a vision to create then this group is for you. During our first meeting in May, we will get to know one another a little better and learn about our first topic and charity that we will be 'showcasing' (for lack of a better word!). After this meeting, everyone will have two months to work on the art project. We will come back together at the end of the second month to show each other what we've completed and speak about it if we feel lead to do so. We will then learn about our next project and the next charity we will highlight. After three projects in six months, we will have an art show at the InnerChange and the art will be for sale. All of the proceeds will be split between the charities we showcased during the six months (three projects). I hope I'm explaining this well!
